Located within the security estate is the historic landmark, Stompneus Bay, at the tip of the peninsula. Shelley Point is ideally located within less than half an hour between Vredenburg, Paternoster, Britannia Bay, Port Owen and Velddrif. The Paternoster waterfront and all the eating facilities make it an easy day trip. In addition, the local cuisine in St Helena Bay and Stompneus Bay has been growing with fish and chips available in the Harbour. Even sushi is available at the local Spar. There are a number of quaint local business that make for interesting browsing in the local Stompneusbaai area.

In close proximity – less than a kilometer – is the local ‘Agterbaaier Shop’, together with a pharmacy.
Slightly further away (2 – 3km) is a local Spar at which everything that is required can be obtained.
There are a number of restaurants within a short drive away – both in St Helena Bay and the surrounding towns of Port Owen, Paternoster, Stompneus Bay and Vredenburg. The West Coast Shopping Mall in Vredenburg will provide most items. Fine dining in the nearby village of Paternoster provides seafood which trumps most urban centers – items are straight from the sea to the restaurant.
